Taiwan has executed a 5-year National Science & Technology Program since January, 2002. Objectives of the program are listed as following :

1. Create a diversified e-learning environment afford for learning anytime anywhere.
2. Better equip the general public for a digital era to improve national competitiveness.
3. Stimulate market demand to expand the economic scale of e-learning industry
4. Shape an environment favorable for e-learning under policy guidance
5. Taiwan as an R&D center for e-learning soft/hardware in global Chinese community.
6. Taiwan becomes a global R&D powerhouse of e-learning-related technology.

This year is the last year of the first phase program, and we are going to host a conference named ¡§TELearn 2007¡¨ for researching and publishing program design, executive strategies, and results.
